La magie du cinéma (500 Days of Summer)

Aujourd'hui je suis partie faire le tour de Downtown L.A. pour découvrir ma nouvelle ville!

En sortant du métro à Union Station, je savais que j'allais essayer les banquettes de cuir que j'ai vues si souvent au cinéma. Je savais qu'une de mes scènes préférées avait été tournée là. La scène finale de Can't Hardly Wait. J'ai essayé de me mettre dans la peau de Jennifer Love Hewitt! Mais je n'ai pas réussi à trouver l'emplacement précis de son entrée dans la gare.

Puis, en sortant à l'extérieur, j'ai rangé ma carte géographique et je me suis laissée guider par mes pieds. Je me suis dit que le destin m'emmènerait là où je devais aller.

La veille, j'avais écouté (500) Days of Summer et je m'étais dit que si je pouvais trouver ce parc où Joseph Gordon-Levitt emmène Zooey Deschanel je pourrais voir de quels buildings il parle avec tant d'amour.

En me mettant en marche, je cherchais à figurer où pourrait être ce parc. Puis j'ai vu le City Hall, un building magnifique qui, à la manière de l'Obélisque de Washington D.C., est visible partout dans la ville. J'ai ensuite croisé le Court House, L.A.P.D. et le Museum of Neon art...Drôle d'idée!

J'ai croisé un Subway, je me suis arrêtée manger un sandwich et, à ce moment-là j'avais oublié le parc. En sortant, j'ai tourné à droite sur Broadway et j'ai vu un parc au sommet d'une pente. Il y avait des bancs, je voulais m'asseoir. La vue était splendide! Des beaux édifices centenaires, comme je les aimes! Une vue en plongée imprenable sur le centre-ville et, à gauche, un parking lot. J'avais posé mon arrière train là Joseph Gordon-Levitt avait posé le sien...

C'est ça la magie du cinéma...Le protagoniste se trouve toujours là où il doit être!

Today I walked around Downtown L.A., trying to discover my new city!

When I came out of the subway at Union Station, I knew I was going to try the legendary leather seats I had seen so many times in movies. I knew one of my all time favorite scene had been shot there; the final scene of Can't Hardly Wait. I tried to put myself into Jennifer Love Hewitt's shoes but I couldn't figure out where she stood exactly.

Then I went out, I put my map in my pocket and I let my feet guide me. I figured destiny would lead me to where I was supposed to be.

The night before, I watched (500) Days of Summer and I remember myself thinking that I wish I could find that little park where Joseph Gordon-Levitt brought Zooey Deschanel. Then I could figure out what were those buildings he loved so much.

When I began to walk, I was first serching for the park and, slowly, I came across the City Hall. Magnificent building that anyone could see from across the city, just like the Washington monument in D.C. Then I saw the Court House, L.A.P.D. and the Museum of Neon art...What kind of idea is that?!

I came across a Subway (the restaurant) and stopped to eat a sandwich. By then, I had forgotten about the park. When I went out, I turned right on Broadway and I saw a park on the top of a hill. There were benches and I wanted to sit. The sight was splendid! Hundred years old buildings were there, standing, just like I love them! I had an amazing view of the city and, on the left, a parking lot...I was sitting exactly where Joseph Gordon-Levitt had sat years prior.

That's what "la magie du cinéma" is all about...The protagonist always ends up where he is supposed to be!
